Info Video about “favola”

For financing the “Deluxe Edition CD Hardcover Digibook” we needed quiet a lot of money. We made a Crowdfunding Campaign at the platform Startnext and luckily even exceeded our goal of 8.500€ and made 9.200€. Here is an excerpt of the pitch video we made for our campaign. Again, infinite thanks to all who participated for all their support!

1607. ensemble for early & new music performs with Austrian mezzo-soprano Maria Weiss on her solo debut album „favola in musica. early new music“ 3 world premiere recordings of early music and 2 world premiere recordings of new music.

Inspired by Monteverdi’s “L’Orfeo. Favola in Musica” Maria Weiss has created a CD and “fairy tale book”:

favola in musica (engl. “fairy tale in music”) is a journey that leads to special places and is about
DISCOVERING WHAT IS NEW IN THE OLD AND WHAT IS OLD IN THE NEW.

favola in musica wants to ask creative questions:

How big is the division between the diametrically opposed positions?
Are they closer together than we may think?
What happens when they come into contact and intersect like two circles?

Maria Weiss has digged up an aria of Antonio Caldara from the archives of the National Austrian Library of the forgotten opera Atenaide.
The awarded and innovative composer and performer Wolfgang Mitterer was commissioned by favola in musica to compose two works of contemporary music.

Early ‚New’ Music: Never heard of today’s ear’s.
New ‚Early’ Music: Contemporary works, inspired by the early Masters.
